The Song of Songs is one of the megillot (scrolls) found in the last section of the Hebrew Bible. It tells the story of young lovers living in Jerusalem in the days of king Solomon.
They are described to be madly in love ever since their first encounter, and each sees the other as the most virtuous and beautiful person in the world. Due to external circumstances, they never manage to meet again and reunite throughout the story, however their love never burns out.
